Indian Academy College of Nursing is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) and recognised by Karnataka State Nursing Council (KSNC) and the Indian Nursing Council (INC), and approved by the Government of Karnataka. Eligibility
Candidates applying for the Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing program must meet the following requirements:
- Hold a Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM)
- Be a registered nurse
- Have passed the Pre-University examination in Arts, Science, or Commerce conducted by the Department of Pre-University Education, Karnataka, or an equivalent examination
- Be below 48 years of age as of 31 December
- Be medically fit
Course Objectives
On completing the Post Basic B.Sc Nursing program, graduates will be able to:
- Assess health status, identify nursing needs, and plan, implement and evaluate care for individuals, families and communities
- Demonstrate competence in nursing techniques grounded in physical, biological and behavioral sciences
- Contribute effectively as members of the healthcare team in promotive, preventive, curative and restorative services
- Communicate clearly and build strong interpersonal relationships
- Apply leadership qualities and make informed decisions across various situations
- Teach individuals and groups in community health settings
- Demonstrate managerial skills in community health environments
- Uphold ethical values in personal and professional practice
- Participate in research and apply findings to improve nursing care
- Recognise the importance of continuous learning for personal and professional development
